I got my birth stone ring today!

It's an aquamarine stone and silver band. I love it! :) All the proceeds went to rescued animals. apachemoon.etsy.com

Hadley's first day of school and a new dress I made

This was the best picture I could get. They both kept moving. Hadley was very excited to get to make new friends. Bethany was excited to use her rain gear.

As is custom on many days after dropping Hadley off, Bethany and I went shopping at Hobby Lobby to find inspiration for this rainy day. Here is what we came up with. Bethany picked out fabric for another one as well, so if I get that one done this week, I'll post it also.

Our trip to Lebanon

We decided to make a meal authentic to some other country once a week this summer. Our first "trip" was to Lebanon. Why? I don't know really, besides Jeanette gave me an awesome Lebanese chicken recipe. Where will we go next week? We'll be in North Carolina so maybe Gramma will take us to Hungary. :)

Lebanese Lentil and Rice Pilaf with caramelized onions, Lebanese chicken, a side of cucumbers and tomatoes and also some fresh pineapple. Not sure if the pineapple is eaten in Lebanon but I wanted to eat the one sitting on our counter waiting to be eaten.

I got bored...

so I decided to do something. :) I was reading through the hymnal last night at church because I love to do that. I came across #26, God Moves in a Mysterious Way. I loved it so much, I decided to make art out of it.

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flow’r.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

lots of stuff

Seconds before this was taken, she said, "MMM, these are yummy noodles." AND...SLEEP...Check out the fork placement.

Hadley won a boogy board and goggles in a box tops competition.

A 5-way dress I made. The rose clip doubles as a brooch.

Hadley's green shoes.

Easter presents - webkinz (for Had) and a yoohoo friend??? for Bethany. They picked them out. EB did not stop by and he was not missed.

Hamlet got the catnip packet out of his door knob scratch pad.

Hadley wanted a spiky hair cut. He also wants red hair...so I sang, "You can't always get watcha want..." He got the spikes though. :)

Another dress I made...well, skirt with matching shirt.

The moment I have been waiting for - she asked me to put this on her.

We had decided to adopt this ferret, Trixie. But have since returned her. I loved her, but not her poo.

Ava's dress...just the front. I have since finished it.

We found 6 abandoned rabbits in the back. I tried to save them but 2 died so I took them to a wild life refuge.

A moment in time. Hadley was catching the ever present fruit flies in an easter egg shell. I think the fruit flies are the only down side to having a bunch of f & v in the house and a compost bin out back.

Bethany opening a box from gramma!
